Donkey Derby 2019

Mrs Greville's Donkey Derby and Family Fun Day takes place at Polesden Lacey and is jointly organised by the National Trust and Leatherhead & District Lions Club. This year's event takes place on:

Sunday 1st September 2019
Gates open 10am - Event starts 11am - First race 1pm (TBC)

Entrance to the house, gardens, parking and the event is free for the day to the general public.

Donkey raceNow in its sixth year and with attendances in excess of 7000, the event which takes place at the National Trust property of Polesden Lacey. Jointly organised by the National Trust and Leatherhead & District Lions Club, the emphasis of this charity event is to provide a low-cost day of family entertainment. Entrance to the house, gardens and this event is free for the day to the general public.

Book your stall

Book early to be one of the fantastic stalls at this year's Donkey Derby. Our booking forms give you the option of having a free entry on our event website as a pitch holder so as to advertise your presence on the day, with an option to link to your own website. Pitches are 4m wide by 4m deep. Pitch cost is £30 for charities & community stalls or £45 for commercial organisations. Food and beverage pitches are treated seperately and should contact us directly.


The Donkey Derby

DogBoneFun Dog Show

Everyone loves a dog show - and with a choice of 10 classes to enter, your dog is bound to have a chance of winning. Just turn up and register on the day.
Classes:
  1. Most appealing puppy—6-12 months old.
  2. Best condition veteran dog over 8 years.
  3. Prettiest bitch.
  4. Happiest dog with waggiest tail.
  5. Best mixed or matched pair of dogs.
  6. Best cross breed dog.
  7. Best pedigree dog.
  8. Most handsome dog.
  9. Best dog and handler look alike.
  10. The dog the judge would like to take home.
Notes:
Dog registration 11:00am to 12:00 noon. No need to book in advance, just turn up on the day.
Judging commences 12:30pm
£2 per dog per class entered.

Please come prepared to clean up after your dog.

Take a break from the donkey racing to visit the wide variety of stalls from local organisations, shopping opportuinities and activities like face painting.
