Donkey Derby 2019

The Leatrherhead Lions Donkey Derby and Family Fun Day takes place at Polesden Lacey and is jointly organised by the National Trust and Leatherhead & District Lions Club. This year's event takes place on:

Sunday 1st September 2019
Gates open 10am - Event starts 11am - First race 1pm

Entrance to the house, gardens, parking and the event is free for the day to the general public.

Donkey raceNow in its sixth year and with attendances in excess of 7000, the event which takes place at the National Trust property of Polesden Lacey. Jointly organised by the National Trust and Leatherhead & District Lions Club, the emphasis of this charity event is to provide a low-cost day of family entertainment. Entrance to the house, gardens and this event is free for the day to the general public.

Our donkeys come from Dashing Donkeys, a stable with an incredible track record - they've been running since 1961. The donkeys' welfare is of utmost importance and all are cared for in the highest form. They are trained to high standards to do racing and absolutely love their job.

Fun Dog Show

DogBone

Everyone loves a dog show - and with a choice of 10 classes to enter, your dog is bound to have a chance of winning. Just turn up and register on the day.

Classes:
  1. Most appealing puppy—6-12 months old.
  2. Best condition veteran dog over 8 years.
  3. Prettiest bitch.
  4. Happiest dog with waggiest tail.
  5. Best mixed or matched pair of dogs.
  6. Best cross breed dog.
  7. Best pedigree dog.
  8. Most handsome dog.
  9. Best dog and handler look alike.
  10. The dog the judge would like to take home.
Notes:

Dog registration 11:00am to 12:00 noon. No need to book in advance, just turn up on the day.
Judging commences 12:30pm
£2 per dog per class entered.

Please come prepared to clean up after your dog.
